Habakkuk 2:16-18

New American Standard Bible

¹⁶ You will be filled with disgrace rather than honor.
^(A)Drink, you yourself, and ^[a]expose your own foreskin!
The ^(B)cup in the Lord’s right hand will come around to you,
And ^(C)utter disgrace will come upon your glory.
¹⁷ For the ^(D)violence ^[b]done to Lebanon will ^[c]overwhelm you,
And the devastation of its animals ^[d]by which you terrified them,
^(E)Because of human bloodshed and ^(F)violence ^[e]done to the land,
To the town and all its inhabitants.

¹⁸ “What ^(G)benefit is a carved image when its maker has carved it,
Or a cast metal image, a ^(H)teacher of falsehood?
For its maker ^(I)trusts in his own handiwork
When he fashions speechless idols.
